Ria Dastidar is a second-generation British Asian illustrator and designer, originally from North London and now based in Glasgow. She’s worked with clients including the BBC, WHSmith, Intercom and Wonderbly. In 2018, she was longlisted as one of ten illustrators (from 1,700 applicants) for Penguin Random House’s Write Now scheme, followed by a place on the Pathways into Children’s Publishing programme (2019–2021). During Pathways, she illustrated Laura Dockrill’s children’s book Magnificent, longlisted for the 2022 Klaus Flugge Prize for most promising newcomer to picture book illustration. Ria loves Oreos, monsters, Jim Henson and cat memes — but isn’t a fan of cauliflower, driving tests, or novelty jumpers.
