Since 2010, Settle Stories has helped children and adults grow in focus, confidence and connection. We create ready-to-use story resources for schools, train storytellers and businesses, and broadcast live and digital events from the Yorkshire Dales. We preserve and celebrate heritage, from the Dales' own archives to international partnerships that co-create stories with communities from Kenya to Nepal.

Settle Stories is a storytelling charity rooted in the Yorkshire Dales, reaching audiences across the UK and around the world. Since 2010, we have grown from a local festival into a year-round programme that helps people stop, listen and connect through story.
We give teachers ready-to-run story lessons, help children become calm and present enough to learn through The Storyful Way, train storytellers and businesses to find and tell their stories, and keep the Dales’ heritage alive through archives, the Listening Gallery and live events shared with the world.
As an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and registered charity, we pair excellent creative practice with research-backed impact. Our next chapter brings monthly events, expanded digital programming and new heritage work, turning stories into bridges that endure.
