World Book Day Interview: Sheena Dempsey
Join Irish author-illustrator Sheena Dempsey, creator of the hilarious Pablo and Splash books, for a fun-filled World Book Day event packed with drawing, storytelling and time-travelling penguins!
Sheena moved from Cork to the UK to study illustration and has been making joyful children’s books ever since. In this lively session, pupils will discover what it’s like to both write AND illustrate stories – and how characters grow from a tiny idea into a finished book.
We’ll dive into the adventures of Pablo and Splash, the penguins on a mission for unlimited fishy snacks! When Splash drags her best friend Pablo back to medieval England, they meet sheep, a pig and a very grumpy farmer… but will they find the feast they were hoping for inside the castle?
Expect drawing tips, storytelling secrets, lots of laughs and plenty of chances for children to ask questions.
