Mara Menzies invites KS2 to join her in Kenya where she will enlighten the children with her story about Rosa Parks.
The stories are a visual way to bring the topic alive and hook the children in.
Black History month is represented with unity. In this lesson, the children will show their own interpretation of unity by creating a piece of pop art artwork.
In KS2, the children will focus on mastering their drawing techniques by recreating the unity fist or their own representation symbol.
This lesson is a fun way to hook the children into the topic and create discussions around black history and unity. The lesson comprises of a lesson plan, PPT and task worksheets which are all linked to the national curriculum for art and design. Â
