About the course

For storytellers, their voice is often key to the delivery of their entire story. We use our voice to explore themes through dialogue, hint at tone and atmosphere and bringing characters to life. In everyday life, our voice is one of the main ways we communicate with the world. It gives others information about where we’re from and how we present ourselves to the world. In this course, we want to equip everyone with the tools they need to expression themselves clearly and articulately through their voice.

Meet the instructor: Barbara Houseman

After dividing her time between Directing and Voice Work, she spent six years in the world-renowned Voice Department at the Royal Shakespeare Company, working alongside Cicely Berry and Andrew Wade and then became Associate Director at the Young Vic working on Grimm’s Tales and Comedy of Errors.
