Volunteer Opportunity!
Are you up to date with the latest social media trends? Do you enjoy promoting the arts to audiences?
If you can come up with a witty tweet, a gorgeous Instagram or a friendly Facebook post – then perhaps our Social Media Volunteer role is for you!
Yorkshire Festival of Story is now in its 3rd year. Last year we reached over 13,000 people from all over the world. We are looking for someone to work with our Head of PR and Marketing to create content and grow our social media.
The nature of the role would be dependent on your working hours and what time you can commit. We are flexible. We are open to applications from people who would like to manage just one social media handle, or all three. Each week, you would receive a brief on all our current schemes and dreams to then create fun content for either/all our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the next seven days. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in marketing or social media management, but if you have a natural flair and a good understanding of these handles, then please do get in touch.
This role will give you the chance to be creative and playful with the various tools at your disposal. Whilst we do have targets we would like met, we are very much open to new ideas and experiments with campaigns and content. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in digital content management, experience of working in the charity sector and in the creative industries.
Practical Considerations:
- You need to have a very good understanding and significant experience using or working with Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
- You need access to the internet.
- You need to be 18+.
- You will be working remotely at present.
- You will need to be available for a Zoom meeting for at least 30 minutes every week.
- A love of the arts is desirable but not essential.
- Please note that this position is unpaid and subject to change at short notice. This voluntary role does not guarantee a full time position at a later stage.
Help us spread the word about the power of story! If this sounds like you then please get in touch with sita@settlestories.org.uk if you’d like to hear more about the role or to apply with your CV.
