Are you up to date with the latest social media trends? Can you tell a story?
If you can come up with a witty Tweet, a gorgeous Instagram or a friendly Facebook post – then perhaps our Social Media Volunteer role is for you.
It is Settle Stories’ 10th year. This August, we celebrated with the Yorkshire Festival of Story that engaged international audiences with storytelling. We are keen to keep our global festival family together. Year round, we run workshops in schools, community outreach programmes and events. We are a robust and exciting small charity who love welcoming new people into our army of volunteers. At this pivotal time in our development, we are looking for someone to help us grow by creating informative and interesting social media content.
The nature of the role would be dependent on your working hours and what time you can commit. We are flexible. We are open to applications from people who would like to manage just one social media handle or all three. Each week, you would receive a brief on all our current schemes and dreams to then create fun content for either/all our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts for the next seven days. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in marketing or social media management, but if you have a natural flair and a good understanding of these handles, then please do get in touch.
This role will give you the chance to be creative and playful with the various tools at your disposal. We are open to new ideas and experiments with campaigns and content. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in digital content management, experience of working in the charity sector and in the creative industries.
Practical Considerations:
- You need to have a very good understanding and significant experience using or working with Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
- You need access to the internet.
- You need to be 18+.
- You will be working remotely at present.
- You will need to be available for a Zoom meeting for at least 30 minutes every fortnight.
- A love of the arts is desirable but not essential.
- Please note that this position is unpaid and subject to change at short notice.
Help us spread the word about the power of story! Please get in touch with sita@settlestories.org.uk to hear more about the role and to apply.
