Are you looking for a new challenge?
Are you a team player wanting to make a difference?
We are looking for a Project Manager/ Researcher to work on our innovative arts and health programme, Storyful.
Storyful is an innovative two year programme of storytelling, mindfulness and creative exercises, designed with primary schools to encourage wellbeing and build resilience in children. Storyful will support PSHE and encourage the development of resilience, a growth mindset and good mental health. As psychologist Bruno Bettelheim explains in his seminal work “The Uses of Enchantment”, stories can help listeners to find the courage to face challenges in daily life. Meanwhile, mindfulness teaches you to recognise thoughts and worries and to learn to react differently.
Storyful is a two year intervention that will begin in schools in February 2024 following a planning phase from September 2023.
The project combines the expertise of teachers, storytellers, artists, mindfulness experts and children, who together co-create, test and refine a programme of work that draws on the power of stories and the proven efficacy of mindfulness.
The result of this process is a 6 week learning programme that is designed to be delivered in classrooms for Years 5 & 6 children. Participation in the Storyful programme will improve children’s well-being and create better conditions for learning. The programme will be tested in a range of schools and modified before we roll out the programme more widely. The programme will be run in 8-12 schools.
