Dial a Story

Ring up and choose your own heritage story to enjoy at home.

Dial a story is our new Covid safe extension of our Listening Gallery.

In 2017 we adopted an old BT phone box to create the world’s very first Listening Gallery. Now, we’re bringing one of our much-loved audio exhibitions to the phone line in order to combat loneliness during the COVID-19 lockdown.

To celebrate 150 years since the building of the Ribblehead Viaduct we have selected five first hand accounts of what life was like working on the Settle-Carlisle Railway Line. These interviews have been taken from the W.R Mitchell Archive.

If you enjoy the exhibition, please Text STORIES to 70085 to donate £3.

Texts cost £3 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work. If you’d like to give £3 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text STORIESNOINFO to 70085.

This was made possible thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
