Become a Volunteer

Use your time to change the world with stories!

When you become a volunteer for Settle Stories you become part of an energetic, admittedly slightly bonkers but fun new family.

Being a volunteer with us will give you the chance to gain new skills, make new friends, help others and make a difference!

Our volunteers range between 9 - 75 years old, some people commit weekly, others at one off events like the Settle Stories Festival.

People give us their time for all sorts of reasons. Some to get work experience, others want a chance to give back to their community, and many people just love what we're doing and want to be part of it.

If you're happy to give your time, we're happy to find an opportunity that works for you. Whether it is stewarding at events, providing office support or developing your archiving and interviewing skills for the W.R. Mitchell Archive get in touch. Contact Charles (charles@settlestories.org.uk) and have a chat about how we can work together.

Specific roles we're currently looking to fill:

  1. A volunteer Writer & Researcher
  2.  Festival volunteers
  3. A volunteer Administrator
  4. A volunteer with Young People
  5. A volunteer Sound Editor
