Discover how Settle has changed since Craven poet and legend, Tom Twisleton died 100 years ago.
Across 2017 young people have discovered the story of Tom and the Settle of yesteryear. Now they are ready to tell his story.
10-4pm Exhibition open at The Folly (All ages)
10.30am Reading of Tom's Poetry (All ages)
11am Poetry reading of new poems created by local young people (All ages)
11.30am Book Launch with readings from the book and a chance to purchase a book (All ages)
11.30am - 3.30pm Family poetry writing workshop. Drop in anytime for this fun workshop inspired by Tom's poems, with a poet (Families)
1.30pm Panel discussion - project research with speakers including Honorary Curator at the Folly, Museum of North Craven Life - Anne Read, Placement students at Settle Stories from Leeds University who worked on the project and Hazel Richardson, Heritage Project Officer who has led the Tom Twisleton 100 project at Settle Stories. (Adults)
2.00 pm Find your ancestors workshop. Join staff from North Yorkshire Libraries Service for this fascinating opportuity to look at your own ancestry. (Adults)
2.30 pm Dialect game - Call my Bluff - this is a great game for all ages. A fun way to experience oral history! There will be prizes and drinks and nibbles will be available as we're asking some local dignatories to come along and give out awards to young people who have been involved in the Tom Twisleton 100 Project. (All ages)
4.00 pm Celebration service @ Parish Church, Settle - led by John Twisleton, a retired reverend and descendant of Tom Twisleton. (All ages)
Heritage Tours will take place at regular intervals from 11am-2pm (All ages)
