Poetry Slam day with Jack Dean

Have you got what it takes to make people laugh out loud?

Be part of the worldwide movement of poetry slams. Accomplished poet Jack Dean will help you discover your comical identity as a performer and bring your own story to life.

Come prepared for exciting storytelling excersises and learn to write short poems that explore meter, rhyme and repetition.

The day will end with a mini-slam, where you can share your work and compete for a comedy prize.

Jack is a highly acclaimed writer, performer, poet and theatre-maker who uses hip-hop, spoken word, comedy and theatre to investigate modern mythologies and contemporary social issues.

As a poet and spoken word artist he has performed at the famous Bowery Poetry Club in New York, the BBC Radio 4 National Poetry Slam, the South Bank Centre and Latitude Festival. His debut poetry collection, Poems for Grown Up Children, is published by Burning Eye Books.
