A wilderness retreat in search of truth
A powerful story can change your life. Using the 12th century Sufi text Conference of the Birds, you will explore your own journey and illuminate your life path.
Travel to a remote corner of Wales, cut off from the world in a private woodland valley. This awe inspiring landscape is the quintessential peaceful location. Here you will connect with your original rhythm and find your focus. There’s no mobile signal, no mains services. Supported by trained facilitators, this will be a true back to nature experience.
The Conference of the Birds will transport you to vast deserts and deep valleys, rich with riddles, myths and temptations. This ancient text poses the question, what will you find when you finally stop searching? In exploring this story of hope, longing and enlightenment you will stray from the familiar and enhance your personal search for truth.
Retreat Programme includes
Our days will start with Chi Kung stick exercises and mindfulness meditation. Morning and afternoon sessions exploring aspects of the poem through practical exercises will take place outside or in a beautiful bell tent. There will also be time for wilderness walks, tea meditation, mask work and lots more. In the evenings we’ll have stories, songs and chants around the campfire under the stars. Three nourishing home cooked meals per day.
The location is a private 60 acre woodland valley. The nearest small town is Llandysull, West Wales. The nearest train station is Carmarthen. Instructions on how to get there will be sent after booking.
